Austbygd (Austbygdi)

A beautiful village in Tinn municipality. Telemark county. Located at the northeastern end of the lake Tinnsjøen – one of the largest lakes in Norway.

Beautiful mountains surrounds the village to the north, east and west. Austbygd is fantastic when it comes to impressive and beautiful landscapes.

Great hiking and biking areas

On the way over the mountains towards Veggli in Nummedal there are several large cabin areas. From Tindefjell and inwards Skirvedalen. Great hiking and biking areas. The Norwegian Trekking Association (Turistforeningen) has a cabin called Daggrøhytta in Veggli and a trail further inwards Hardangervidda towards Lfsjåen. See more on austbygde.no and dnt.no.

Flytsti

The shot is from a trip with a group of riders who call themselves Flytsti (flytsti.no). They rolled over the mountain from the Veggeli side. About 8 km down again there is a parking lot with a info map. And here the trip started. You can view more info with a map and more pics on trailguide.net/1092.
