Hemsedal

A municipality in Buskerud county. Part of the traditional region of Hallingdal.

In the background we spot Skogshorn

From the museum farm Øvre Løkji, there are several trails up into the mountains that surrounds Hemsedal, Hemsedalsfjella (The Hemsedal mountains).

In the background we spot Skogshorn. The summit is a popular destination for day-trips both summer and winter. The east-side approach requires no climbing, and and is popular for families and other mountain tourists. The south-side of the mountain can be climbed.

From the summit (1728 m) you have a view of Valdres, Hallingdal, Jotuheimen and Gaustatoppen and the other mountains of Telemark. In other words, a great view!

Hemsedal is also the second largest ski resort in Norway.
