[/content_band]Grefsenkollen (377m)
One of two perhaps finest climbs in Oslo (together with Tryvann). At the top there is a magnificent view of the city and the fjord – when there is no fog, that is.
The climb runs from Sinsen/Storo and is very popular. It follows kjelsåsveien and Grefsenkollveien up to Grefsenkollen Restaurant.
From Muselunden (a grass pitch right next to Sinsenkrysset), it is 4,3km and 265 meters to the top. It gives an average gradient of 6.2%.

A restaurant was built on the top in 1926 and is still in use. The doors were opened for the first time 10 May 1927.
The building is of traditional timber and the technique used was special because the timber was particularly rough and all were carved out with axes.
There was no road to the top so the path today known as Akebakken was cleared and timber and material transported to the top with horses. Yet Grefsenkollen was built in just 10 months!
Pit stop for cyclists
With many seats and plenty of space to put your bike Grefsenkollen is perfect for a pit stop.
With a good portion of imagination it´s easy to pretend you’re somewhere else while you eat pizza and sip on your espresso after several hundred meters climbed.
